Workshop Guide
- Secure your timber firmly in a vice or with clamps before beginning any carving or shaping work.
- Select the appropriate chisel or gouge for your task (e.g., straight chisel for flat trimming, deep gouge for hollowing).
- Hold the wooden handle firmly with your dominant hand, using your other hand to guide the blade near the ferrule.
- Always carve away from your body, using smooth, controlled pushes. For deeper cuts, lightly tap the handle with a wooden mallet.
- After use, wipe the blades with a lightly oiled cloth to prevent rust, and store them securely in the wooden box.

Bought this 12 piece chisel set for my husband's birthday. The wooden box makes it look so much more expensive than it is. He's been using it to carve small spoons and is thrilled with the CR-V steel quality.
Next day delivery was spot on. I'm a beginner at wood carving and wanted a kit that had a bit of everything. The gouges are brilliant for hollowing out bowls, and they hold an edge really well.
I use these for fine detail work on my restoration projects. The variety of profiles in the box is fantastic. The handles are comfortable and the steel ferrules mean I can give them a light tap with a mallet safely.
Great woodworking tools set for the price. The chisels are sturdy and the steel is good. My only minor gripe is the clasps on the wooden box are a bit flimsy, but it sits on my workbench anyway so it's not a huge issue.
Much better value than the VonHaus set I was looking at. The blades arrived reasonably sharp, though I gave them a quick strop. Perfect for my weekend DIY and shaping tasks around the house.
Used the straight chisels for hanging some new doors and the V-tool for a bit of decorative routing. They performed admirably. Good solid ash handles that feel great in the hand.
